The owners of this Penwortham, Lancashire candy shop were given quite the fright. Amy and Lauren Elleray-Wilson were away with family when an alert from their CCTV disturbed their Saturday night. At first, the shop owners believed someone might have attempted to break into their business, but found something far more disturbing.

Amy recounted the events of that strange night. “We got a notification that it was motion detectors in the shop and I was like ‘Oh, what’s going on here?’, because obviously we always panic thinking of what’s going on in the shop. I went onto it and I was watching the orb just fly around and I was like ‘What on earth is going on here?’. I’m looking and thinking ‘What is it?’. I thought it might just be a bug on the camera or it might be a moth.” “Then we could see shadows and then all kinds of stuff and I was like ‘Wow what is going on?’.” What Amy and Lauren saw was a white orb floating in front of the camera. Amy posted the video to the candy shop’s WhatsApp group. Amy’s sister Megan, who also works at the shop, revealed her own close encounter at the store only days before. “Megan told me she was cashing up the other day and her bag fell off the side but didn’t even think anything of it. She said it had literally been on there for about 10 minutes.” Amy said. Reviewing the CCTV footage, Amy found the instance her sister stood behind the counter with her bag for twelve to thirteen minutes before it suddenly tipped over. Megan claims her bag was practically empty. “I said to her ‘Did you have something heavy in it?’, and she was like ‘No Amy, there was an empty sandwich box, an empty water bottle – it was really light’,” Amy said.

‘Oh my God, have you seen the other orb?’
The candy shop posted the footage to their social media channels. The internet took swift notice. “People have been finding things that they’ve seen on the footage and been like ‘Oh my God have you seen the other orb, have you seen this, have you seen the arm on the left?’,” Amy said. “I’m thinking ‘Where are these guys looking?’, but when you turn your brightness up you can actually see it. There’s all sorts of activity going on there. It’s so freaky.” Lancashire natives offered their own theories. While many have suggested motor accidents as a possible source for the paranormal happenings, others more familiar with the area sited the death of a local boy. “Some did comment on one of the videos saying that there was a little boy who unfortunately died, so I thought it could possibly be him coming back on into the sweet shop. That is really freaky. Since then, we’ve not had any more activity at the pet shop but we are sure something else will happen.” Despite the strange occurrences, Amy and Lauren Elleray-Wilson were content to share their shop with the ghost. “Seeing is believing,” said Amy. █
