In the latest episode of Unidentified With Demi Lovato, the nonbinary star and her crew of paranormal investigators find themselves in the ghost town of Vulture City, Arizona. In what appears to be an abandoned brothel, Lovato and the crew encounter a ghost. The paranormal investigators refer to the entity only as ‘Carmen.’
In the clip from the show, Lovato’s friend Matthew Scott and paranormal investigator Chris Smith use an EMF detector to track the spirit’s whereabouts as Lovato speaks to the specter. Lovato asks if the ghost has, “seen anything like ETs here, or UFOs? Star people?”
“If I Sing You a Song, Can My Friends Come Back In?”
Much to Lovato and the crew’s surprise, the EMF detector which was active only moments before goes quiet. Sensing they are not wanted, Matthew Scott and Chris Smith leave the room. Lovato and the ghost of the brothel are now alone.
Lovato speaks with the ghost. She asks, “Did you not want to say anything else because the boys were in here?”
The EMF buzzes again.
“I have trauma, too, so I feel you and I get it,” Lovato continues, “If I sing you a song, can my friends come back in the room?”
Instead of using the EMF to communicate, the ghost knocks. This is a good sign.
Lovato goes on to sing a spontaneous version of her Billboard chart topper ‘Skyscraper’ for her haunted audience of one.
Apparently, the singer strikes the right note with the ghost. The EMF detector chirrs back to life with what can only be the sounds of a thankful Carmen.
Demi Lovato can hardly believe it herself. “That is the coolest standing ovation I have ever had.”
