The only thing worse than high school, is a zombie-infested high school, as in the new trailer for the upcoming Netflix series All of Us Are Dead. All of Us Are Dead is based on Joo Dong-geun’s Now At Our School web-comic, which was published on Korean online platform Navear between 2009 and 2011. You can read the first nine episodes here.
After a science experiment gone terribly wrong, a local high school is threatened by zombies. The school is cut off and is left with no food, no water, and no way to communicate with the outside world. A group of high school students are left with no choice but to fend for themselves in this undead battle royale.
Zombies Another Home Run for Netflix?
The zombie genre has proven to be a critical success for Netflix, which currently has a number of zombie series and movies on their streaming platform, many of them Netflix Originals. Since the success of Squid Game, Korean dramas have also been a very lucrative genre for the service, making All of Us Are Dead a likely success. “All of Us Are Dead is poised to write an exciting new chapter in the Korean zombie genre, as director Lee brings fresh energy through the solid narrative and the attention-grabbing cinematography he is well known for,” said spokesperson Minji Kang for Netflix in a press release.
Written by Chun Sung-il, and directed by Lee Jae-kyoo and Kim Nam-su, All of Us Are Dead will star Yoon Chan-young (Doctor John, Nobody Knows), Park Ji-hoo (Little Women, Beautiful World), Cho Yi-hyun (School 2021, Inspector Koo), Park Solomon (Sweet Revenge, 4 Legendary Witches) and Yoo In-soo (At Eighteen, Tale of a Fairy). The series will consist of eight episodes with a runtime of around 42 minutes. Watch hit TV shows and the hottest new blockbuster movies on Netflix. █
