Phasmophobia is back with a new update that promises different maps, more enhancements, and even a new ghost type.
The new map is in fact not a new. In a behind the scenes blog post, Kinetic Games revealed the new location “Sunny Meadows.” Along with a new place, the Phasmophobia developers teased images of a dark destination with new dim backdrops and broken lights. Kinetic Games said the new changes made for an “extra layer of difficulty.”
However, Sunny Meadows is in fact not a new, but a revamped version of the Maple Lodge map’s asylum. The new images included a list of “torture tools” and an abandoned bath with dirty, still water. While the map is a slimmed down version of the original asylum with less rooms, Kinetic Games promises it will be every bit as challenging. Players will have a chance to “get lost amongst the long corridors, dense rooms, and smashed lights.”
Phasmophobia Fixes
In addition, Phasmophobia made updates to the main game, including a revised UI, customizable ID cards, a reporting patch to curb hackers, and a new system for loadouts. “No longer will you have to buy individual items (or ALL of them) every time you want to start a contract. With loadouts, you’ll be able to set up a template, buy only the items you are missing, and add them all with just a few clicks.”
No Phasmophobia update would be complete without a fresh round of ghosts. The latest installment teases two brand new ghost types. In the update notes, details about these entities were vague. However, one of the newest additions include the Deogen, a slow-moving, but relentless specter that shares more than a passing resemblance to Dead by Daylight. █
