Phasmophobia is back with a new summer update.
Kinetic Games revealed the newest patch on their Steam developer blog for Phasmophobia. Patch 0.6.2, or the ‘Truck Update,’ promises a revised map, a redesigned loadout, and new mysterious ghost types.
NEW MAPS
Due to player criticisms, Kinetic reworked the original map. In the latest update the Asylum has been incorporated into the Sunny Meadows map. Boasting 70 rooms—down from 78—the new map is one of the largest locations in the entire game.
In their latest blog entry, Kinetic says the new location will be “crammed full of things to make it feel used, abandoned, and messy.” The changes include newly designed interiors with what appear to be the remains of beds, bookshelves, rubble, and chairs. Through their latest changes, developers hope to create a greater sense of “visual diversity.”
NEW LOOKS
Phasmophobia has completely reimagined the load out screen with new skins, models, and materials. The latest update allows players to purchase and upgrade all their equipment. A gif posted to Kinetic’s blog shows there is likely to be an option for players to save their equipment load out going forward.
NEW GHOSTS
In an earlier entry, the Kineti team teased new ghosts in images from the user’s journal. While the pictures listed the unique characteristics of the spectral types, the developers left the ghost’s name and other vital information blurred out. Until now.
In the latest update, Kinetic revealed three new ghost types: Moroi, Thaye, and the Deogen. The Moroi is a spirit known to rise from the grave and hex their victims. The aggressive Thaye continues to age into the afterlife. Last but not least is the Deogen, a relentless ghost found in the fog known to pursue its prey to death.
Phasmophobia is a four player co-op psychological horror game with VR support. Players can team up with others as paranormal investigators and use the tools of their trade (EMF Readers, Motion Sensors, UV Flashlights, etc) to prove the existence of ghosts.
Phasmophobia is now available on Steam. █
